Bordeaux is the emblem of global wine excellence, with a tradition dating back to the Romans and a classification system that has defined international quality standards since 1855. Divided by the Garonne River into Rive Gauche and Rive Droite, this region combines ideal soil and climate conditions with refined winemaking practices, creating wines of extraordinary longevity and elegance.

Iconic territories and grape varieties

The Rive Gauche is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the protagonists of the Médoc (Pauillac, Margaux, Saint-Julien) and Graves blends, while on the Rive Droite, Merlot reigns supreme in Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. The mosaic is completed by the dry whites of Pessac-Léognan and the legendary sweet wines of Sauternes and Barsac, obtained thanks to the “noble rot” that concentrates the aromas and sugars of Sémillon.
