SLOVENIAN WHITE WINES

White Gold on the Border of Italy

Between the Julian Alps and the Adriatic Sea, Slovenia boasts an extraordinary wine heritage. The Tannico collection explores this borderland rich in millennial wine history, where Central European and Mediterranean traditions merge to create whites with a unique character, often vinified with long macerations that give them complexity and surprising aging potential.

The Protagonist Grape Varieties: Authenticity and Territory

Rebula (Ribolla Gialla) shines for its minerality and structure, especially in the vineyards of Brda/Collio. Malvasia Istriana expresses Mediterranean aromatics, while Slovenian Sauvignon surprises with its elegance and complexity. Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay, and the indigenous Zelen complete the varietal picture, each a perfect interpreter of the different microclimates that characterize this small but diverse wine region.

The Masters of Slovenian White Wine: Tradition and Avant-garde

The Tannico selection celebrates visionaries such as Movia, a symbol of natural viticulture on the Italian-Slovenian border, and Marjan Simčič, master of Rebula in Brda. There is no shortage of refined interpretations by Edi Simčič and elegant expressions by Sutor, representing the qualitative avant-garde of a viticulture increasingly recognized internationally for the originality and expressive depth of its wines.
