PETITE ARVINE

The white pearl of the mountains

A true Alpine wine treasure, Petite Arvine embodies the essence of high-altitude mountain viticulture. The Tannico collection showcases this rare native grape variety, cultivated with dedication in the Aosta Valley and the Swiss Valais, which produces wines with an unmistakable mineral character, surprising structure, and a unique aromatic identity that combines citrus notes, floral hints, and that distinctive savoriness that is the territorial signature of the most authentic high-altitude wines.

Two sides of the Alps, one soul

In Italy's Aosta Valley, Petite Arvine is cherished as part of the local heritage in small, often heroic terraced vineyards, where the grape variety expresses intense citrus notes and a penetrating minerality. In the Swiss Valais, its historical homeland, it is celebrated as a regional wine symbol, with interpretations ranging from the most immediate and fragrant versions to the most complex and long-lived wines. In both territories, the granite soils, wide temperature variations, and optimal sun exposure give the wines exceptional tension on the palate and an inimitable character.

Alpine sensations in a bottle

The Tannico selection explores the distinctive organoleptic profile of Petite Arvine: the unmistakable savory, almost salty finish that lingers in the mouth, the aromatic richness that evokes pink grapefruit, wisteria, alpine herbs, and high-altitude honey, and the important structure that supports remarkable aging potential. Mainly vinified in steel to preserve varietal purity, in more complex interpretations it can benefit from brief periods in wood or on fine lees, which amplify its complexity and evolutionary potential without ever overwhelming its territorial identity.

Mountain winemakers: passion and territory

Our selection brings together producers who have dedicated their passion and expertise to promoting this niche grape variety. Particular attention is paid to small artisan producers who cultivate their vineyards using sustainable practices, often on steep slopes and at altitudes that challenge the limits of traditional viticulture.
