Tasting Notes

Medium ruby red, the bouquet offers a wide spectrum of aromas ranging from cherry to red berries and spices. Medium-bodied, well-balanced and great harmony, it has an elegant persistent finish. Pairing suggestions: throughout the meal it pairs well with light starters, veal and poultry, but also particularly rich fish dishes. The winery is in Alto Adige where it is possible to find some of the most important cooperative wine makers not only in Italy but the whole world. Extremely solid concerns having a mission entirely dedicated to the absolute best in quality and which can offer wines unequalled in excellence. One of these is Colterenzio which holds a leading position. Founded in 1960 and now counting three hundred members, it has become one of the most important businesses in the area. We are in Cornaiano, a small town near to Appiano in the province of Bolzano. A place where nothing is left to chance, where electricity is produced locally and where its beautiful (and new) building is an example of sustainability for the entire national wine producing sector. A lovable winery.

Alto Adige Pinot Nero Riserva DOC "St. Daniel" 2022 - Colterenzio: Why we like it

The Praedium line refers to the Roman praedium (landed property), the single estate, a deep rooted wine producing culture managed for generations by the same family. It is in these historic vineyards, located in areas with a special vocation for growing each vine, that these wines are created after a attentive vinification and painstaking refining. Alto Adige Pinot Nero Riserva DOC “St. Daniel” of Praedium Colterenzio, produced on the high lands between Ora and Montagna, stands out for its refined elegance which it expresses in such a charming way with hints of ripe red berries and a fine delicate blend of tannins.
