MONTEVERTINE
The Silent Revolution of Chianti
Montevertine is one of the most authentic and respected names in Tuscan winemaking. Founded in 1967 by Sergio Manetti in Radda in Chianti, the winery has charted a course against the tide, abandoning the Chianti Classico appellation to pursue a purist vision of Sangiovese. The historic decision to leave the Consortium in 1981, refusing the obligation to add international varieties, gave rise to wines that express the noblest character of the Chianti territory with crystal clarity.
Purity and Territory Without Compromise
Le Pergole Torte, the icon of the winery now run by Martino Manetti, represents the quintessence of pure Sangiovese: austere elegance, aromatic complexity, and extraordinary evolutionary capacity. Together with Montevertine and Pian del Ciampolo, it completes a range that defies wine trends, maintaining an unmistakable style based on traditional fermentation in cement, long aging in large Slavonian oak barrels, and absolute respect for the identity of the territory. These wines tell the story of a place, authentic expressions of an idea of viticulture as a cultural act.
