ORGANIC AND NATURAL

What is the difference between a “normal” sparkling wine and a natural one?

Natural sparkling wines are effervescent wines produced using a completely natural winemaking method, without the use of chemicals or additives.

This production method requires the wine to ferment naturally inside the bottle, without the addition of sugars or other ingredients. This means that fermentation is completed without the need for any external control of temperature or pressure.

Natural sparkling wines are considered artisanal wines and their production process requires great attention and care. The result is a sparkling wine with fruity notes and a strong, complex taste, which represents the purest expression of its terroir of origin.

And what is the difference between natural and organic sparkling wine?

The main difference between a natural and organic sparkling wine is based on the cultivation and production methods used to make the wine.

Organic sparkling wine (such as organic Prosecco) is produced using only grapes grown in accordance with organic farming practices, without the use of pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers. Furthermore, as we have seen above, the production of organic wine involves specific processing criteria, including the use of natural yeasts and bacteria and temperature control.

Natural sparkling wine, on the other hand, is a type of sparkling wine produced without the use of selected yeasts and other chemical additives during fermentation.
