MÜLLER-CATOIR

This historic winery, owned by the Catoir family for nine generations, is located in Haardt, along the Rhine Valley in the Pfalz region. This ancient German area has always been dedicated to viticulture, thanks to favourable climatic conditions and its location. The winery, one of the most important in the region and a member of the VDP association, covers about twenty hectares of vineyards with 30-35-year-old vines, 60% of which are planted with Riesling using strictly natural methods. The winemaking process, carefully supervised by the owners, begins with a careful selection and manual harvesting of the grapes. The long, slow fermentation takes place in steel tanks at low temperatures with selected yeasts, and no clarification is carried out in order to enhance the terroir and varietal character.
