RED WINES TO GIVE AS GIFTS

Want to give wine as a gift but don't know which one to choose? This section has the solution, because you'll find red wines that will satisfy even the most discerning wine lovers or those who identify primary, secondary, tertiary, and septenary aromas before taking a sip.

If you want to impress someone special, I would go for a Barbaresco, with its cherry and rose flavors that pair perfectly with a nice winter first course or meat main course. Or play it safe with a Chianti Classico Riserva, which is smooth and enveloping and offers excellent value for money.

If you want to stay on a tighter budget (perhaps because you have to give away several bottles of wine), a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is always an excellent choice: full-bodied but not overpowering. For the more discerning, nothing beats His Majesty Amarone from Veneto, which, with its warmth and enveloping aromas, will please everyone.

But now it's time to think about those wine-loving friends we mentioned earlier, the demanding ones, for whom you never know what wine to give. Let's take it one step at a time: if you want to play it safe, the king of reds, Barolo, is the right choice. The same goes for Brunello di Montalcino. However, if you really want to impress, you can choose a Pinot Noir or a Bolgheri Superiore.
