Burgundy

The temple of terroir and parcelization

Burgundy embodies the purest expression of the concept of terroir, where every slight variation in soil, exposure, and microclimate translates into profoundly different wines. This legendary region, with its vineyards fragmented into thousands of parcels, has elevated two grape varieties—Pinot Noir and Chardonnay—to heights of quality unattainable elsewhere.

The quality pyramid from Regional to Grand Cru

The Burgundy system classifies wines into four levels of increasing excellence: from Regional to Village appellations, up to Premier Cru and the legendary Grand Cru. From Chablis in the north to Mâconnais in the south, passing through the Côte de Nuits (the kingdom of the greatest Pinot Noirs), the Côte de Beaune (home of the finest Chardonnays) and the Côte Chalonnaise, each territory expresses an unmistakable identity that is revealed in wines of extraordinary finesse and elegance.

From historic domaines to new stars

Our selection encompasses the entire range of Burgundian excellence: from the legendary Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Leroy to the prestigious Armand Rousseau and Leflaive. There is no shortage of emerging producers who, while respecting centuries-old traditions, are introducing sustainable practices to preserve a wine-growing heritage that is unique in the world, where each bottle tells the thousand-year-old story of a small piece of land and the hands that have tended it.
