At the gates of Pauillac, Château Lynch-Bages is a symbol for the whole of Médoc. Founded in 1691 by the hand of John Lynch, an Irish nobleman in exile, the winery was implemented by John's son, Thomas Lynch, who managed the company with wisdom and foresight from 1749 to 1824, producing excellent wines initially known as “Cru de Lynch”, later classified as Grand Cru at the Paris Exposition in 1855. However, it was on the eve of World War II, after a number of vicissitudes, that the estate was bought by the Cazes family, which still owns it today.
In the old cellar remains the historical equipment, a symbol of prestige, but they now use the best technologies. Each production process is aimed at preserving and enhancing the peculiarities of the terroir. The over 100 hectares of vineyards owned, where cabernet sauvignon has found its kingdom but where petit verdot, merlot and cabernet franc are also grown, are home to vines aged up to 60 years. Excellent grapes produce wines that to define superb would be an understatement. Rich, dense and deep, Château Lynch-Bages wines develop a wide range of refined organoleptic characteristics, combining the aromaticity of the varietal with the nobility of aging in wood: high-class wines.
