CHÂTEAU LATOUR
The Aristocracy of Pauillac
Château Latour, Premier Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification, represents the pinnacle of Bordeaux wine excellence. Located on an exceptional terroir near the Gironde estuary, its 78 hectares of vineyards rest on the legendary gravelly soil of Pauillac, which gives the wines their unmistakable minerality and structure. Since the 17th century, Latour has been producing wines of extraordinary concentration and power, capable of evolving magnificently for decades.
The Grand Vin and the Pyramid of Excellence
Château Latour's production follows a strict quality pyramid: the Grand Vin, composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon with small percentages of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, represents the purest expression of the terroir; Les Forts de Latour, the second wine, offers accessibility while maintaining an aristocratic character; Pauillac de Latour completes the range. Since 2012, the estate has revolutionized the market by releasing its wines only when they are ready for tasting, marking a new era in the trade of grand cru wines.
