Napa Valley 2019 - Quintessa

It’s announced by a dark and intense ruby red colour. The nose gives off evident references to plum and cassis, which then leave room for irony nuances and earthy notes. The mouth shows a dense sip, with a great tannic grip, characterized by a mineral and fruity taste.

This Napa Valley "Quintessa" offers interesting nuances to the nose, depth, and persistence. A great layered nose of floral, woody, fruity and earthy notes harmonizes with a fine-grained tannin and a vibrant acidity, which makes the sip truly enjoyable. It’s a wine of precision as well as a terroir wine. It comes from a blend in which, alongside the dominant cabernet sauvignon, we find small percentages of cabernet franc, merlot, carmenere and petit verdot. The grapes, after harvesting and vinification, mature for 22 months in 60% new French oak barrels. It drinks well now for those who prefer a more youthful expression of wine, but it will evolve in the cellar for at least another 20 years for those who love the complexities of ageing.
