Deep ruby red, tending towards garnet with age. Opening with scents of red fruit, the bouquet evolves to become reminiscent of unsweetened cocoa, coffee and spices. Full-bodied and structured on the palate, dry and persistent.

Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOCG “Vinchio d'Asti”reaches is finest expression when served with rich dishes, red meat and soft cheeses. Excellent with bagna cauda - a traditional Piedmontese dip made with oil, garlic and anchovies, served hot and used for dipping a variety of raw and cooked vegetables.

The municipality of Vinchio belongs to one of the areas best suited to the cultivation of Barbera grape varieties, and it is there that the grapes used by the Oddero cellar to make Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOCG “Vinchio d'Asti” originate. After fermentation, part of the wine ages in oak barrels and the remainder ages in barriques, for 18 months, before being blended in spring and bottled in summer. It is balanced and harmonious, very elegant and enveloping.
