Champagne Lombard

It was exactly in 1925, when Robert Andrieu, engineer and agronomist from Montpellier, founded Maison Lombard. Located in Épernay, the company is now managed by Thierry Lombard, and boasts a vineyard area of over 5 hectares, 1er Cru classified and located in the western area of the Montaigne de Reims. In the vineyard, the attention is thorough, in fact since 2018 organic farming is applied, respecting the environment, the ecosystem, the biodiversity and surrounding nature. Aged on average 35 years, the vines are divided between 60% pinot meunier, 30% pinot noir and 10% chardonnay. In addition to the property vineyards, the active collaborations that Maison Lombard has with some of the most important winemakers in the region should not be forgotten. With a production potential that can count on 80 stainless steel tanks and 120 oak barrels, after vinification the wines usually rest for 6 to 8 months in wood, to acquire roundness and smoothness. After the second fermentation, the Champagnes rest in the traditional cellar dating back to the 18th century, partly excavated and composed of tunnels that extend for 1.5 km. From Extra Brut to Brut Nature, with Crus from the most suitable plots, the Lombard Champagnes are synonymous with absolute excellence. Simply extraordinary labels.
